Position Purpose
The Madden Tech Lead will be the engineering team lead for all Pipeworks Madden teams. They will work with leadership at Pipeworks and our external partners to help the teams ship projects on time.
Essential Job Functions
- Collaborate directly with external production and tech leadership
- Work with studio management to ensure the team is meeting the studio’s business goals
- Develop long term project goals and strategies (e.g., training material, job descriptions)
- Participate in feature and sprint planning meetings (e.g., t-shirt estimates, tech doc review meetings)
- Help managers identify opportunities for management career growth
- Support day-to-day operations of a large team (e.g., technical and process support for 40+ people)
- Assist leads with scheduling, estimating, and planning tasks for entire projects
- Mentor potential future Madden engineering tech leads

- Strong communication skills — written, verbal, and visual (e.g., presentations)
- Strong leadership and organizational abilities
- Knowledge of development tools such as IDEs, debuggers, profilers, and revision control systems
- Extensive knowledge of all facets of development
- Team lead on multiple shipped products
Demonstrated Ability To
- Solve complex engineering problems that require multiple engineers
- Lead large teams of engineers
- Produce technical design documents and standards
- Meet deadlines and ship products
Education & Experience Required
- A BS in computer science or related field (mathematics, physics, engineering) and at least 4 years industry experience or, 6 years industry experience
- Experience leading multiple shipped products through all phases of development
