Technical Lead/ Lead Programmer (f/m/d)

Primary- Work with Unreal 4 / Unreal 5
- Work closely with the Product Owner to deliver the best possible product
- Be responsible of establishing and maintaining clean code and architecture
- Own the technical architecture with the team, lead the design of solid systems befitting project requirements and restrictions
- Establish and maintain workflows and pipelines to improve the team’s efficiency
- Nourish team to become self-reliant, autonomous and dependable in their shared decisions
- Prioritize and estimate backlog items together with the PO as well as the team
- Represent the team together with the PO towards the client
- Be a mentor for the team, especially juniors, working students and interns
- Work in an agile project team with up to 15 people who are partially working remotely
- Assist the team in breaking down game design documents into technical tasks
Secondary- Work in pairs, do designs together, do design and code reviews
- Work with state-of-the-art tools & workflows (JIRA, Confluence, TeamCity CI, Rider, ReSharper, …)
- Work closely with our designers to implement new features or upgrade existing ones
- Manage and maintain CI and build pipelines
Who are we looking for:
You have:
- Work experience in the games industry
- You have good knowledge with UE4 and/or UE5
- Participated in one or more complete development cycles
- You have very good working knowledge of C++
- You know how game-engines work internally – it’s not just a black box
- You know about OOP, software architecture and are familiar with software design patterns
- Solid math knowledge (linear algebra, geometry)
- Worked with Version Control Systems
You are:
- You can work self-directed and reliably
- You like working in a team and solving problems together
- Able to gather, analyze, and act on feedback from the team, openness to critique
- You have very good communication skills in English both verbally and in writing (company language)
- Happy to work in our team in Munich (Germany)
The ideal candidate also has:
- You already worked in a managing position such as Lead Programmer, Scrum Master or Project Manager
- Experience with developing multiplayer games
- Experience with platform development (PS4/5, XB1/XSX, Switch)
- Participated in one or more complete game development cycles
- Worked with versioning systems
- Has a solid basic physics knowledge
- Knows how to write Shaders (GLSL, HLSL or Cg)
- Worked with TDD
- Good knowledge with Unity3d
- Knowledge about DOD (data-oriented design)
- Experience with performance optimizations (e.g. parallelization)
- Knowledge of Linux and Terminal
- Working knowledge of TeamCity as build server and continuous integration tool
- Good communication skills in German both verbally and in writing
- Experience with C#
- Experience with Linux
