As a Tech Designer I, you will spend time collaborating with engineering, improving workflow pipelines, creating systems and gameplay features, as well as solving technical design challenges. Ideal candidates will have a critical eye for fun, quality, and optimized scripting solutions as well as thrive in collaborative creative environments.
As a Tech Designer I, you will...
- Prototype and implement game features based on designs in Unreal Engine
- Create and maintain documentation on systems and best practices
- Solve problems by providing systemic solutions with scalability and maintainability in mind
- Define and redefine workflows, implement, improving the efficiency of other Designers
- Work with the team to conceptualize, prototype, continually iterate, balance and tune features and gameplay based on feedback
- Collaborate with designers and programmers to create and support systems
As a Tech Designer I, you must have...
- Professional experience as a Technical Designer with understanding of how to implement within Unreal Engine
- Knowledge of game design fundamentals (gameplay features, asset management, and version control)
- Familiar with visual scripting (i.e., Blueprint, Kismet, or equivalent)
- Familiar with programming principles
- Strong communicator with proven ability to document and share technical knowledge effectively
It’ll be a bonus if you also have...
- Examples of personal work that showcase your technical design knowledge on a 3 rd person action-adventure game and/or professional experience contributing to a AAA console title as a technical designer or systems designer
The pay range for this role includes the annual base salary, not including bonus and the generous benefits package that Crystal Dynamics provides all full-time employees. Individual compensation is determined by work location within our approved states, as well as additional factors, including job related skills, experience, and relevant education. Your recruiter will be able to share more information about total compensation.
Pay Range
$65,000 — $90,000 USD
