Summary:

The Technical Director will be responsible for managing and overseeing the programming team. The holder of the position will establish the link between the game's artistic vision and its technical implementation.

Key Responsibilities:

·Determine the best technology for all projects.

·Understand the engine middleware and constraints of the different projects.

·Manage the programming process and identify programming tasks and time estimates.

·Ensure that each game is built with a productive methodology and solid programming practices, technical notes, code reviews, keeping in mind long-term quality and future code sharing between projects.

·Identify technical risks of projects and develop emergency plans to be implemented with the team.

·Maintain positive working relationships with technology teams to improve the use of shared technologies.

·Manage and optimize the technical collaboration between internal and/or external studios working on the game.

·Maintain regular internal communications and encourage a pleasant team atmosphere.

·Interface with design and art director to identify needs and implement features in projects.

·Manage the performance of the programming team.

·Assume responsibility for the development and professional training of the programming team.

·Facilitate and encourage the sharing of technical knowledge and code between projects.

Qualifications:

· A university degree in programming, computer engineering, software engineering or equivalent.

·5 to 10 years of experience in the game industry on console platforms.

·At least 3 years of experience in multi-platform console development as a lead programmer or chief programmer.

·Having published at least 3 games, one of which as a senior programmer, lead programmer, or technical director.

·Experience working on a published game, from concept to release, preferably a AAA open world title for console.

·Interest and experience in most aspects of game technology development (audio, 3D, animation, gameplay, UI, networking, and tools).

·Knowledge of technological constraints on various platforms.

·Knowledge of C/C++ languages.

·Experience in multi-platform development.

· Experience in optimization.

·Leadership and communication skills, both oral and written.

·Good sense of organization.

·Strong coaching and leadership skills.

·A proactive and independent attitude.

·The ability to troubleshoot and an open mind.

·The ability to work efficiently under pressure and to adapt to change.
