What we're looking for
MobyMade is seeking a talented, experienced technical director to join our leadership team. As one of our first employees, this is an incredible opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the future of a new gaming studio. As a lead software engineer, you would build and oversee the technical foundation of our games studio.
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain a realistic long-term technical roadmap.
- Lead game software development across the full development cycle of the project, from pre-production and prototyping to final.
- Work closely with the leadership team to define and manage the game requirements.
- Establish detailed and prioritized requirements.
- Ensure proper documentation exists and is kept up-to-date on all systems.
- Recruit, retain, lead and coach fellow engineers.
Requirements
- Several years of professional work experience in the games industry, and part of that in a leading role.
- Track record of shipped games from concept to completion.
- Expert knowledge of C / C++.
- Expert knowledge of Unity.
- Experience with the complexities of building and maintaining multiplayer games.
- Experience with cloud services/infrastructures.
- Able to analyze project needs to recommend the right technical path to best achieve our goals.
- Demonstrated ability to write clean, readable, portable, reliable and optimized code - a technical leader should be able to code.
- An egoless attitude that welcomes feedback and criticism, and enjoys working in a collaborative, iterative, and agile process.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
