What you'll be doing:
You will be using your tremendous experience in Unity to push the boundaries of what is possible visually in VR. You love to analyze code and systems in order to maximize visually fidelity while still maintaining high performance. The prospect of using your skills in graphics programming to develop custom solutions when possible and innovating in the emerging medium of Virtual Reality is very exciting for you.
Owning Graphics Technology Development – You’ll use your background in graphics programming to analyze the rendering pipeline and drive rendering excellence and innovation. You’ll be working with a talented and experienced multidisciplinary team to create best in class VR visuals.
Optimization – You will use your deep knowledge of optimizing rendering, physics, and networking in Unity to ensure our VR Experiences constantly run at 90 FPS or better while also being visually stunning. You will develop best practices and share your knowledge with your colleagues in order to increase the overall efficiency of the development team.
Innovating and Leading – At Sandbox VR, you will have a chance to genuinely innovate and create something new. You can develop your own tech ideas and execute on them, while working on a team whose goal is to create VR experiences unlike anything seen before. You can help to motivate and inspire the engineering team, while establishing best practices for the team moving forward.
Who we are looking for:
- Advanced Unity Expertise – You have been working with Unity for many years and understand the underlying code and systems. You have a very deep knowledge of C# along with graphics programming experience in Unity, C#, DirectX or similar.
- Shaders are your thing – You have lots of experience writing and optimizing shaders. You enjoy giving artists and designers new tools to make beautiful content with.
- Technically Creative - You can show demonstrable examples from your previous experience where you used your technical creativity to create novel solutions to problems or build new tools for your fellow developers to use.
- VR Expertise – You have worked on VR/AR projects in the past, whether they be professional or even hobby projects.
- Always Learning – You will be responsible for keeping up with the latest latest features and optimization techniques and deciding if and when and how to incorporate.
- Clean Code – You can write reliable code and eliminate bugs in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment in order to deliver a smooth game experience for our guests.
How you can really impress us:
- You have experience working as an engineer or developer support engineer at Unity.
- You have a strong personal interest in video games technology. You understand industry trends and upcoming innovations. If you have given talks at games/VR industry shows or written articles about your craft, this is a great way you can demonstrate your understanding to us.
- VR is an exciting new medium for you, you are passionate about the possibilities of the technology and you’re eager to use your skills to push this industry forward.
