Technical Director - Platform & Backend

Do you have what it takes to help improve our core platform and tools in support of multiple high profile AAA mobile titles? Nifty Games is hiring a Technical Director, Platform & Backend to guide the evolution of the shared platform that backs live and in-development titles like NFL Clash, NBA Clash, and beyond! No longer a scrappy startup, we are excited to enter the next phase of our journey to improve upon our strategic combination of new and existing tech stacks, inspired by industry best-practices for a world-class, mobile-first publisher and developer. Requirements:

• 6-8 years of shared platform development experience
• Lead the Platform, Tools, and DevOps engineering teams, whose responsibilities include shared platform technology, DevOps, Build Jobs, Admin Tools, Unity Editor Tools, Publishing Tools, and App Performance & Optimization Tools

• 5+ years of technical leadership experience in launching games and running a large-scale live service
  Deep knowledge and experience in developing and optimizing a modern cloud-based tech stack (Azure and Playfab a bonus)

• DevOps and System Admin acumen to configure, support, and scale infrastructure for the wide range of live operation needs
• Experience with Unity development and workflows

Responsibilities:

• Lead the Backend, and DevOps engineering teams, whose responsibilities include shared platform technology, DevOps, Build Jobs, Admin Tools, and Publishing Tools.
• Coordinate with Game Template Team to ensure Platform deliveries are properly represented in the template apps and that the game team contributions are folded back into future Platform releases
• Work with the VP of Engineering to set the System Admin, security, delivery and versioning strategies, documentation, and onboarding direction Nifty-wide
• Help shape the Nifty Platform roadmap, including defining deliverables, architecture reviews, prioritization, scheduling, and delivery
• Coordinate with the Game, Product, Design, Community, CS, and QA teams to ensure their needs are met, prioritized, and expectations are well communicated
• Coordinate codebase strategies with the VP of Engineering and define and enforce delivery and versioning strategies, documentation, and onboarding
• Support our key partner relationships including Microsoft, Unity, Photon, Amazon, and other third party vendors

Desired Qualifications:

• Passion for mobile gaming and professional sports
• Ability to jump into the trenches to contribute to the codebase and toolset to help realize your vision
• Savvy understanding of source control and branch/version management (Perforce and Git is a bonus)
• College degree or similar is preferred
