Our studio is creating the future of King games! We are championing innovation and exploring new territories in mid- core. We need an expert to set the standards for 3D in this exciting studio.
King New Games is looking for a Technical Director to oversee and lead one of our most exciting games. The ideal candidate is passionate about driving the high- level direction of the game, as well as supporting his team and the leadership team in delivering an awesome experience to our end users.
Your role within our Kingdom
Working closely with Design, Art, Business and Production you will not only oversee the core gameplay, but more importantly the full stack driving the meta and multiplayer portion of the game. Focusing on the technology, you will be working hand in hand with the Games leadership group.
- Own the technical direction of the product
- Critical Analysis of technology and development practices
- Strive towards the goal of improving game quality, team efficiency
- Lead a diverse team of engineers in the day- to- day work, fostering a positive work environment
- Work closely with the other leaders of the project to drive the game on a day- today basis
- Help production define the project roadmap by giving you experience and insights to help deliver a high quality product
- Work with Studio Tech Directors and Leads to define Technology and strategy in New Games
- Work closely with the share technology teams within King
- Share knowledge with the Studio and King as a whole
Skills to Create Thrills
You are passionate about programming, technology and have a sense of quality and polish. As a technical profile, you are also analytical and genuinely interested in understanding the tech you work with.
We want you to have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and to be a strong team player, able to work in a fast paced, demanding yet fun and professional environment.
We also would love you to have the following:
- Familiar with Mobile development and the accompanying best practices
- You are experienced at working with off- the- shelf engines, preferably Unity and C# and the focus being Mobile
- Experience around developing and maintaining Envelope and Meta (everything, outside the core game play) experience, with a centralized technology team.
- Experience with Multiplayer games, understanding their complexities
- Experience of building for live and maintaining a live multiplayer game
- Games as a service mentality
- You are a team player who likes to discuss solutions and ideas as a group
- Proficient in communication with both technical and non- technical developers
- Previous leadership and mentorship experience
- You are keen to grow and develop yourself
- Passion for games
- Bonus: Deep experience in key areas of Game Development (e.g. AI, UI, Physics, tooling etc)
