Activision Central Tech works to support our development studios and their titles. Comprising seven main teams, we have many specialties including big data, privacy and security, motion capture and animation pipeline technologies, graphics, build and infrastructure for studio development and data centers, optimization, systems programming and online services including matchmaking and networking. Central Tech is distributed globally with offices across the U.S., and in Canada, England, Ireland and Japan.
Most of our teams are composed of both engineering and research talent, allowing us to always have an eye on the future. Our talented engineers help with title development and provide valuable knowledge sharing between studios while our researchers are action-oriented and keep a strong connection with the needs of the game studios.

Responsibilities:
- Advancing company initiatives within mobile development: identify, diagnose, solve, track and chase down technical issues related to performance, scalability, quality, memory etc and ensure progress by acting directly (as an individual contributor) and applying your team engineering resources appropriately.
- Propose, architect and implement broad engine / core tech changes as needed to achieve best results on target mobile platforms.
- Supporting senior management and other stakeholders with respect to mobile development efforts and keeping them informed of progress.
- Technical point of contact: Acting as a team spokesperson for all things mobile, liaising with external technology partners as needed to push forward with company goals in the mobile space etc, and helping to educate the wider development team regarding best practices on mobile platforms.
- Team leadership: assist with the recruitment effort for building up your mobile team, and work with those new hires to guide them into the company and manage their workload, providing regular feedback and performance reviews as needed.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Degree in computing / computer science or comparable qualification.
- 10+ years’ experience in game development programming roles or similar, comprising of:
- a specific emphasis on modern game engine technology, performance, memory etc.
- 3+ years’ experience of shipping software on both iOS and Android devices.
- 3+ years’ experience in technical leadership roles, managing engineers and tasking.
- Excellent verbal and written communications.
Optional:
- Experience of planning a project, managing competing priorities and scheduling tasks for a software development team.
- Experience of AAA game development on PC and/or console, in a large studio environment.
- Experience with first person shooter titles.
