Activision Blizzard King is seeking an experienced Cloud and Security Architect to join our Data Protection Engineering group. This is a senior, Director level, individual contributor position reporting to the Vice President – Data Privacy & Protection. At Activision Blizzard King, we take data privacy very seriously and are rapidly advancing our capabilities to enhance the trust our customers have with us about their personal data, as we provide epic interactive gaming and entertainment experiences. This position will lead the architecture functions and will advance our engineering capabilities to build a world-class data privacy and protection platform that spans across enterprise privacy portal, data subjects rights service, data inventory service, and data protection services.
The role focuses heavily on design and implementation of cloud services, cloud security and security architecture, and will serve in a key role of leading technical discussions, guiding the development of strategic and tactical security architecture efforts, designing, and driving implementations to completion, and guiding the data privacy & protection engineering team members to help further develop skills and delivery capabilities. The role will require the candidate to have a strong technical background, understanding of cloud services, integrations, security technologies, security controls and security best practices. The ideal candidate will need to be proficient in security capabilities, particularly in a cloud environment, and wider general security best practice, and be a thought leader, guide and advisor, as well as a technical mentor to the rest of the engineering team.

Responsibilities
- Design & implement the delivery of data privacy & protection services
- Work with technical and business units across the organization as a security reference point, offering advice, support, and guidance on all a wide range of data security issues, including but not limited to:
- data discovery & classification, policy tagging,
- key management, encryption, tokenization,
- secrets management, PKI, identity management
- Provide technical guidance to the infrastructure and systems team to enforce cloud security controls
- Deploying, migration to and maintaining cloud solutions in accordance with company security policies and best practices in cloud security
- Driving identification, analyses, and resolution of data protection application security issues
- Provide guidance to and assists in training engineering team members and help further develop Cloud Security skills and delivery capabilities
- Build positive and collaborative relationships across the organization
- Automation championing to reduce toil and increase development velocity
- Define and instrument service level objectives to ensure epic player experiences
- Demonstration of configuration management to build and maintain consistency across services including the usage of Terraform, Jenkins, Octopus, and GitHub actions
- Adopting containers and Kubernetes for new and existing services
- Applying everything-as-code methodologies across configuration, infrastructure, orchestration, and elsewhere
Qualifications
- Work experience with one or more cloud service providers
- Hands-on experience with Cloud Data Security services (KMS, HSM, DLP)
- Hands-on experience with Cloud Serverless Compute (FaaS), API Gateway, Datawarehouse, Data Streaming, ETL services, and integrations with encryption and tokenization services
- Hands-on experience with micro-services, Configuration Management (Terraform), Container runtime and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes), Cloud Services and Architecture (GCP, OpenStack, Azure), APIs and Gateways, Distributed Message Bus (RabbitMQ, Kafka), Proxies and Load Balancing (Nginx, HAProxy), Monitoring (Kibana, Grafana, Elasticsearch), Logging (Splunk, SysLog, ELK Stack, Linux Journal, grep), Source Control (GitHub Enterprise), CI/CD (Jenkins, Octopus, GitHub Actions), Linux (bash, debugging, tuning), Networking (triaging, packet loss, routing), Programming (Java, Python, Go, C#, Shell, PowerShell)
- Solid experience with key management, encryption, tokenization, secrets management, identity management, OIDC, PKI
- Knowledge and experience with data inventory concepts and solutions
- Knowledge and awareness of data privacy regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, etc.
- Knowledge of risk management frameworks
- Deep understanding of cloud service architecture with emphasis on security in the cloud
- Solid understanding of modern information security methodologies and standards, especially in cloud environment
- Cloud/Security certification desired
- Working experience in Agile and SAFe SDLC methodologies
- Able to drive and support creation of technical documentation
- Aware and keeps up to date with technology trends
- Experience with horizontal scalable design, multi-environment releases
- Solid understanding and experience on Open-Source Governance, Binary Management, and AppSec models to shift left and introduce security and privacy by design and default in everything that gets built
- Capable of sharing ideas and technology to their peers in a clear and effective way
- Commitment to quality and sustainability
- Familiar with JIRA and Confluence
