Technical Game Designer

As a Technical Game Designer, you'll play a crucial role in creating technical solutions to increase efficiency, reduce errors, and improve processes. You will report to the Game Designer Manager/Product Lead and collaborate directly with the Game Team, Engineering, Live Operations, and Production. You should have experience in game data, Google Sheet Formulas (Gscripting a plus), and finding optimizations for challenging problems.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Senior Designer to maintain, transition, and update the technical tool framework for specific games
• Create templates in Google Sheets that organizes large amount of data to allow the team to rapidly create content for specific games
• Work with the team to drive robust, high quality, and flexible solutions to current workflow problems
• Drive scalable technical design solutions that reduce implementation time and errors
• Document, support, and guide adoption of new tools and processes
• Be a constant student of evolving technical solutions and champion these insights to improve team effectiveness

Requirements

• Proficient in creating scaleable tools using Google Sheet Formulas/Gscript OR Unity Development
• Adept at technical design, programming, or creating technical solutions
• Meticulous about verifying new tools, data, and modified content before releasing
• Proactive, self-sufficient, technical-minded, detailed, organized, and enjoys driving innovation
• Ability to identify process improvement areas, create a plan, implement, and iterate
• Knowledgeable about multiple aspects of game development
• Personable, works well with the team, and responds well to feedback/iteration

Bonus Points

• Passion about playing, designing, and improving efficiency on mobile free-to-play games
• Bachelor's in Computer Science, Game Design, or related fields
• Flexibility for off hours tool support
• Perforce (or other version control software)
• Experience with Unity, JSON, GScripting, or Python
• Has a passion for learning new and exciting formulas in Google Sheets
