Job Overview
WG is looking for a motivated Technical Artist who has a passion for creating high quality content for our projects.
In this role, you will be part of a team that develops robust technical capabilities and contributes to improve the pipeline content creation.
The ideal candidate is well versed in the technical framework of game engine development, familiar with current and new technologies for creating game ready assets.
The job will be located in Prague, Czech Republic. Relocation support is provided.

This role reports to Art Manager
What will you do?
- Collaborate with the Art and Engineering to fulfil the requirements of in-game features and visual targets. By developing tools and processes for our Content Creation pipeline.
- {Optional} Communicate with Department Leads, to help establish smooth implementations.
- Partner with Modelers and VFX Artists, with a common objective to deliver outstanding quality content for our game.
- Be the first responder to our content creators when technical issues arise with their work
- Collaborate with Tech Arts to establish and promote technical best practices for the content creators.
- Collaborate with both Art and Engineering teams to create a smooth flow of assets into the game.
- Own the technical budget of all the assets received; provide solutions, ensuring they are valid for game play and optimized for performance.
What are we looking for?
- 2+ years of experience as Technical Artist in the games industry.
- Experienced 1 full development cycle of a published game title.
- Professional experience with Asset Management Tools. (ie. GIT, TortoiseSVN)
- Solid programming skills. (i.e. Python & C#)
- Experience with Houdini (VEX).
- Experience working with Game Engines. (ie. Unity & Unreal)
- A good understanding of Game Art Pipelines, current technologies and platform limitations.
- Professional experience with the industry standard Digital Content Creation applications. (ie. Maya, Substance Designer, Photoshop…)
- Aptitude for troubleshooting technical issues and possessing strong problem solving skills.
- Excellent Collaboration and Communication skills, with a proactive attitude for bridging the communication between art and engineering.
- Strong Interpersonal and creative collaboration skills, working with developers and writers to attain a vision.
- Understands and interprets Art direction well, attention to detail, meticulous, and organised working habits.
What additional skills will help you stand out?
- Bachelor’s Degree or work experience, in Game Art, Animation, and/or Film Production.
- Proficient with UE.
- Creating shaders with HLSL or Vulkan
