Technical Artist

Wargaming USA is looking for a savvy and creative Technical Artist to join our team. Our ideal candidate will provide technical solutions for aesthetic problems. As an indispensable member of the Technical Art Team, you will be a go-to person for our current and future art tools and technologies, establishing standards for a strong pipeline that yields high-quality results. You will work closely with Engineers and Artists to improve our engine and tool set for amazing visual results.

What you will do:

• Use your Python/Lua/Max/Mel scripting skills to develop and improve tools based on workflow and visual targets
• Bridge the Art and Engineering teams to integrate and optimize art tools and graphic features
• Document and educate artists on tool usage and best practices
• Research and integrate new technology into art production methods
• Help solve complex pipeline and content creation challenges
• Integrate, set up and optimize art resources for game use

What are we looking for?

• • Experience using Python/Lua/Max/Mel or similar scripting tools to create tools that meet the needs of a team of artists.
  • Experience with at least ONE 3D Software package (3DS Max, Maya, or Blender).
  • An ability to listen to artists, understand their needs with regards to tools and translate this into actionable technical specifications
  • A background that demonstrates a well-rounded understanding of game art production and a desire to continually deliver best-in-class tools for artists.
  • An ability to thoroughly and accurately document tools and processes in a manner that artists will be able to easily understand.
  • Prior experience with Unreal, Unity, or proprietary game engines is preferred.
