The Technical Artist works closely with our concept artists and developers to integrate the art content and features into the game, while maintaining the artistic vision and technical constraints of the project.
What you’ll be doing:
- Design and develop highly optimized art assets, particle effects and animation systems;
- Analyze memory and performance concerns throughout a project's development;
- Ensure art assets can be easily integrated into the game without sacrificing artistic vision or exceeding the platform’s technical limits;
- Work closely with pre-production artists and programmers to create best practices;
- Become familiar with game design documents and identify processes that improve productivity and visual quality.
Responsibilities
Requirements
- 2+ years of gaming industry experience;
- Excellent technical skills and in-depth knowledge of real-time systems and technologies (shading, lighting, animation and hardware performance);
- Skilled in Photoshop;
- Experienced with Unity 3D;
- Experience with 2D game and 3d game development.
Qualifications:
- Autonomous, resourceful, organized and rigorous;
- Skilled problem solver and team player
- Ability to think outside the box and overcome technical challenges;
- Creative and passionate about 2D game development;
- Technical Writing experience
It’s a bonus if you have experience with:
- Source control (GIT, sourcetree, etc.);
- 3D modeling;
- 3D animation;
- Writing shaders;
- After effects or other animation tools;
- Other popular or proprietary engines.
