Position Purpose

The Technical Artist will work on a new interactive TV show based off a famous IP. They will use all of the game creation techniques in Unity to create a dramatic interactive 3D experience.

Essential J ob Functions

  • Create technical solutions for visual and pipeline issues
  • Setup c haracter rigs
  • Work to connect the art and engineering efforts
  • Develop unique shaders and materials
  • Project performance evaluations and recommendations

Qualifications/Skills Sets

  • Working knowledge of Maya, specifically the ability to create custom script tools (MEL / Python) that streamline artist workflow and/or increase efficiency
  • Unity experience is a must ; Unreal experience a benefit
  • Ability to rig/weight characters in Maya
  • S trong understanding of art pipelines and tool creation
  • Understanding of "artistic concepts", e.g. modeling, lighting, shading, and animation
  • Ability to assess occasional contradictory technical and artistic needs and provide creative compromise s
  • Working knowledge of C# and Python/MEL required
  • Overall attention to detail, both visually and technically
  • Strong interest in the industry and a desire to make games
  • Ability to work as part of a game team
  • Understanding of 3D art and 2D art
  • Ability to partner with engineers to develop and integrate technical solutions for art team needs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with C++ or other high-level languages
  • General knowledge of programmable shaders
  • Unreal and Blueprint experience

Demonstrated Ability To

  • Work in a n organized way in a studio with multiple projects at a given time
  • Work effectively with other artists and engineers to achieve project goals
  • Solve problems to the benefit of the project/team

Education & Experience Required

  • Any degree or certification in both Art and Engineering or equivalent work experience
  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar role

Materials Required

Candidate should provide a portfolio of tech art samples that they have created for projects and a resume detailing the projects/studios that they have been a part of.
