Technical Artist

NCSoft is looking for an exceptional Technical Artist to join our R&D team for our exciting new unannounced IP, at our Aliso Viejo, California office. In addition, our R&D team provides technical solutions for multiple projects within our company, headquartered in South Korea.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Directly support and cycle between the animation and asset creation teams
- Create tools and scripts to automate animation production processes and rigging
- Periodically support the asset creation team with test rigging of movement range limitations within anatomical correctness for humans, creatures, and mechanical assets
- Implement game assets, rigs, and animations into Unreal 4
- Research production pipeline and tools, experiment, and discover best solutions
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL
- Production experience working as a technical artist in games
- Technical animation experience within Maya, MotionBuilder, and Unreal 4
- Experience creating tools with C++, Python, MEL, and other languages
- Familiarity with rigging and skinning, specifically in Maya
- Ability to comprehend artists and their needs regarding tools, and to translate those into actionable technical specifications
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
- Ability and willingness to participate in company presentations and travel internationally
- Able to quickly adapt to the ever-changing daily needs that is the nature of an R&D team
- Portfolio/work examples demonstrating your tech art abilities
- Always striving for excellence in technical art
