Technical Artist

Job Description

The Molasses Flood is looking for a talented and experienced mid to Senior level Technical Artist to join our team as we work on our latest project. The candidate for this position needs to demonstrate deep understanding of the industry, and show interest in emerging trends in the field. This person will work closely with the art and programming teams to create tools and processes to assist the art production pipeline and implementation for our game, and they will document these technical tools so they may be updated, reconfigured and utilized across future projects.

This is a full time salary position.

Daily Responsibilities

• Working closely with the art and programming departments on creating optimized, high-quality visual assets and tools.
• Defining and documenting technical standards.
• Maintaining the production pipeline and meeting deadlines.
• Building tools to assist the art team and pipeline, which could be used in current and future projects.

Qualifications

• Experience with Unreal engine and Blueprints.
• Good working knowledge of scripting languages that power common art applications (3dsMax, Maya, etc.)
• Excellent shader development skills.
• 3+ years of experience in the game industry as a Technical Artist.
• Experience with industry standard 3D and 2D packages.
• Excellent communication and problem solving skills.
• Candidates must have a US work permit or citizenship.
• Curiosity, kindness, and a positive and professional can-do attitude.

• Experience authoring particle effects.
• Experience shipping on a wide-range of hardware specifications.
• Houdini or other procedural tools knowledge.
