We are looking for a student assistant within our R&D Graphics Lighting team. Working closely with Developers who are building new lighting features, you will help ensure they work well for our production teams. You will have the opportunity to work with test content helping teams to verify new features being developed for the Unity Engine. You will help us provide our users with the best tools to help them create. We want you to bring your knowledge of multiple tools and platforms for 3d content creation and real-time graphics.
This role will involve working 15 - 20 hours per week and the hours are flexible around your studies. We offer subsidised lunch and a great office environment.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development of new features and provide feedback about artist workflows for graphics and real-time 3D rendering
- Building tools for lighting in Unity
- Optimizing scene performance without sacrificing visual quality
- Collaborate closely with Engineers as a resident team member
- Use the Unity editor regularly as a content creator
- Stay in touch with user perspectives and feedback
- Contribute to documentation, training material, presentations and demos
Requirements
- Currently studying a Bachelors or Masters Degree within a related field such as Game Development, Software Engineering.
- Programming experience (C#, C++, or other scripting language)
- Experience using digital content creation tools such as: Substance Designer, Blender, Maya, 3ds Max, ZBrush, etc
- A portfolio showing a balanced mix of visual aesthetic and tech-art/programming skills
- Comfortable with 3D math
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively on a team
Bonus points
- Experience with game or app development within studies or professionally
- Experience creating lighting setups and shaders within Unity or other real-time engines
