As a Technical Artist, you will support the art pipeline for Guild Wars II. In this role, you will be developing tools and providing solutions to empower artists to craft beautiful content more effectively.
Responsibilities
- Develop and improve art pipeline tools for Guild Wars II
- Work collaboratively with artists to evaluate needs and help improve their workflows
- Investigate and provide solutions for a wide variety of technical challenges
- Triage and resolve bugs related to assets and in-game deficits
Qualifications
- Portfolio demonstrating knowledge of game assets, art pipelines, and tool development
- Understanding of Technical Art domains with an established focus in at least one area
- Proficient with Maya and Photoshop
- Experience with scripting in Python and PyMEL
- Comfortable with verbal and written communication
- Effective problem solver with a solution focused attitude
- Self-driven team-oriented contributor with the ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks effectively
- A customer-centric approach to tool development
Pluses
- 2+ years of production experience working as a technical artist in games
- Familiarity with rigging/skinning in Maya
- Experience with QT for Python
- Familiarity with Guild Wars Universe
