8 Bit Bandits has launched and is looking for an experienced and passionate Technical Artist to join our small, autonomous team of gaming industry veterans and help us solve complex challenges in our mobile games.
Responsibilities
- Work on the shaders, textures and 3D art pipeline
- Manage asset import/export automation and high technical standards
- Define technical asset quality and performance benchmarks
- Proactively identify technical constraints while conceptualizing, and executing solutions through new tools.
Qualifications
- At least one published 3D game with experience from creating and defining technical art from start to finish
- Solid understanding of mobile platform rendering technology
- Strong skills of shader programming and optimizing asset performance
- Strong knowledge of the 3D content creation pipeline
- Experience creating and working with shaders
- Experience working with Unity
- Experience in optimizing 3D and 2D assets for high-end game performance
- Experience in graphics profiling and optimization tools(e.g. Unity Profiler)
- Ability to communicate to cross-functional teams ie engineers and artists
Nice to have
- Experience creating tools for Maya, 3ds Max, Blender, or similar packages
- Structured, organised and able to prioritise and plan own tasks
- Produce tools for various DCC tools (Maya, Blender, Houdini etc)
