Technical Art Director

Sitting between art and engineering teams, you assess risks, explore new technologies and solve problems.
Amber Studio Canada is looking for our next Technical Art Director to join us in Montreal and to support technical and VFX artists internationally.
As an agency, we could expose you to various tech stacks and growth opportunities as you mentor art teams across the globe.
YOUR MISSION:
- Mentor and guide Tech and VFX artists
- Drive recruitment and training for artists globally
- Communicate with the artists, designers, and programmers to define the technical needs on their projects
- Cooperate with the artists and programmers to mitigate and resolve day-to-day production issues
- With the help of local teams, develop tools and solutions to solve performance issues and optimize the games while maintaining their visual identity,
- Implement complex features in collaboration with programming teams
YOUR SKILLS:
- Expert knowledge of Unity 3D and/or Unreal
- Knowledge of shader systems. Ability to write or modify shaders
- Great understanding of mobile platforms’ limitations and production pipelines
- Good scripting skills and/or tools development skills for artists
- Professional level of English
IMPRESS US WITH:
- Experience working on a multi-platform 3D game
- VFX skills
- The tools you’ve developed
- Tutoring skills
