Technical Animator

Epic Games is looking for a Technical Animator focusing on rigging characters and skins for Fortnite.
Responsibilities:
- Rigging characters and character skins for a range of games
- Setting up assets in Unreal Engine 4; including cloth, physics, blueprints
- Working closely with modelers and animators to ensure a smooth development pipeline that delivers high quality assets
- Assisting with pipeline tools and working with engine and project leads on continuous improvement of those engine tools
Qualifications:
- Rigging reel showing the ability to set up characters for animation
- Strong experience with Maya and Mel scripting
- Knowledge of facial rigs for games, television or film
- Ability to create tools and write scripts to help improve the animation pipeline
- Game industry experience/shipped title experience
- Skilled at skin weighting characters to create the best deformation possible
- Skilled at running physics sims on cloth, hair or other physics items.
- Great communication skills and the ability to incorporate feedback into the rigs, and toolsets
- Familiarity with Unreal Engine 4 art pipeline
- Experience with Python
- Related skills such as modeling and animating
- Knowledge of current technology and trends in video games
