Role
Key member of the engineering leadership team and responsible for overseeing the blockchain game engineering team.
Responsibilities Leadership
- Be the connective tissue between the game design teams and engineering teams.
- Be the right-hand partner to the product owner in support for all game development responsibilities, while managing the team to maximize effectiveness for all product development processes.
- Provide the leadership and management needed to ensure that the engineering team has the right processes, technology, facilities and resources to develop and operate successful blockchain universes.
- Ensure the engineering team is connecting, sharing, and leveraging the broader company resources, processes, and learnings.
Engineering
- Oversee the engineering team to maximize efficiency and throughput.
- Ensure clear team priorities that are aligned with studio and company goals.
- Deliver on product and technology roadmaps as agreed with internal stakeholders, ensuring high code quality, value to customers, and reliable production operations
- Audit the tech quality for each major development milestone and periodically on live operating products.
- Develop, implement, maintain engineering coding standards and best practices.
- Define and own the team’s long-term technical roadmap.
Team and Studio Operations
- Provide the leadership and management needed to ensure that the engineering team has the right processes, technology, facilities and resources to develop and operate successful blockchain games.
- Provide coaching, mentorship and support to help them develop professionally as well as achieve their delivery goals.
- Establish processes and policies that promote the broader company culture and vision.
- Manage and sustain an effective structure to support the studio’s strategy.
- Identify issues that could impede success, provide recommendations, and implement improvements.
- Manage project milestones, administrative and live-ops tooling,
Required Qualifications:
- Ability to have a high level view of a project, but also motivated to help the team with your own hands.
- 7+ years of experience in software development planning and blockchain
- Experience working on multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong understanding of different software development methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall.
- Fluent in both English and Spanish.
- Client management skills.
- Passion for videogames.
Bonus Skills:
- Agile/Scrum Master certification.
- Experience developing videogames.
- Experience with project management tools like Jira, Hansoft and others.
