What We Need:
The NBA TechArt team is a diverse group of talented Technical Artists that perform a wide variety of tasks. We write and maintain tools for the art department, rig the characters, props, and clothing, and do a lot of problem solving. We're looking for a highly motivated student or recent graduate that is excited to learn from experienced Technical Artists and improve their skinning and programming skills. You will be working on a variety of tasks that may include skinning clothing, setting up dynamic hair systems, writing tools in Python, and troubleshooting problems.
What You Will Do:
- Skin and rig clothing assets
- Setup dynamic systems for real-time game assets
- Attend team meetings
- Build and test artwork in the game engine
- Work closely with the character team
- Troubleshoot issues
Who We Think Will Be A Great Fit:
- Passionate about making great quality games and are willing to take on a variety of tasks
- Comfortable working in Maya and have basic rigging skills
- Portfolio that demonstrates skinning of organic models (clothing, characters, etc.)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Nice To Have:
- Version control software (Perforce, Git, SVN)
- Scripting or programming (Python, MEL, C#, C++)
- Production management software (Shotgun, Jira)
- Dynamic systems (hair and cloth simulation)
- Game editors and engines
