Tax Manager APACSummary
The Tax Manager APAC will work with the members of Aristocrat’s Group Tax Team, and the broader Aristocrat business, to ensure Aristocrat’s tax obligations are well managed.
The principal focus of the role will be Aristocrat’s tax obligations for the ANZ and APAC regions. However, given Aristocrat’s global nature, the role will include Australian and international tax advisory support to the Group Tax Leadership Team.
The Tax Manager APAC will collaborate with colleagues across Group Finance, other areas of the Aristocrat business, and Aristocrat’s external advisors, to manage the day-to-day tax compliance obligations as well as ad-hoc tax issues as they arise. They will also be involved with larger tax projects, or projects requiring tax input, as and when they arise.What you'll do
- Overall responsibility for tax compliance and advisory for Australia, New Zealand and Asia.
- Preparation and review of the Australia, New Zealand and Asian corporate tax returns.
- Detailed review of half year and annual tax provision
- Assisting with transfer pricing management/implementation and reporting
- Support continuous improvements in tax provision processes, including collaboration with other members of the business
- Detailed review of GST and FBT returns/reporting
- Perform research to support tax provision, compliance and planning
- Review and assist with preparation of tax accruals, budgets and forecasts
- Provide support for external financial statement audits and income tax audits, as applicable
- Other duties and special tax projects as assigned
- Manage, coach and mentor 2-3 direct reports
- Support the Tax Team and the Aristocrat business with ad-hoc tax issues as they arise
- Work with the Tax Team to continuously improve processes and policies
- Liaise with our advisors and tax authorities in respect of tax matters
What we would like you to know
- Comprehensive experience in Australian income tax, with experience in other areas such as international tax and transfer pricing viewed favorably
- Ability to prepare tax provision calculations and an in-depth understanding of tax accounting under IFRS
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written – demonstrate an ability to translate complex tax issues in a business-friendly manner
- Experience with operating the Microsoft suite of office applications (e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Thomson Reuters OneSource tax product experience will be viewed favourably.
What we're looking for
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance preferred
- CA/CPA certification or equivalent
- Masters of Tax viewed favourably
- Minimum of 7 years of corporate tax provision and compliance experience with Big 4 or National Firm and/or multinational corporate tax department
