The opportunity
The Tax Analyst for EMEA will join our international EMEA Tax team, and will be directly supporting our Senior Tax Manager for EMEA.
As a Tax Analyst you will assist with our compliance with EMEA VAT regulations, and work closely with 3rd party providers to ensure timely filing of periodical submissions. To be successful in this job you will need to be able to balance the responsibilities towards Unity at a global and local level, improving the value of our global Finance community. The partners for this position will be our EMEA tax team, our global tax team across the Americas and APAC, our local Finance team in EMEA and 3rd party service providers.
What you’ll be doing
- Assist the EMEA tax team with compliance of VAT data collection, review, consolidation, preparation and payment instructions of periodical VAT filings (f.e VAT returns, MOSS, OSS, ESL);
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of accounting for VAT in the general ledger in line with business timetable;
- Preparation, validation and submission of periodical statistic filings for key VAT registered group companies in compliance with the relevant regulations;
- Provide daily assistance on other VAT projects, sundry tax, financial & reporting activities;
- Development and implementation of continuous improvement plan to bring increased quality, efficiency and exceed partners’ expectations;
- Building and maintaining productive working relationships with all tax partners.
What we’re looking for
- Academic education in Business, Economics, Finance, Accounting or related field;
- Professional experience in VAT, income tax and/or accounting from a similar position or from an accounting firm/corporate financial function with a focus on tax issues ;
- Knowledge of VAT, income tax and accounting norms, principles and applications;
- Great analytical skills, attention to details and tenacity to get things done;
- Proficient in Excel, Google Suite (Sheets, Slides), and common data analytics tools.
Bonus Points for Experience in:
- Knowledge of financial systems (Workday Financials) as well as tax engine systems (such as Avalara).
