Job Summary:

An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated individual to join the finance team in our London office as a Tax Accountant, reporting to the Tax Manager.

This role will involve exposure to a broad range of taxes (both domestic and international), and a variety of tasks covering the UK and other Western locations. It should provide an excellent opportunity for someone looking to make a first move in-house, or equally someone already in-house looking for more variety and responsibility.

The successful candidate will take ownership for tax compliance, accounting, and reporting for the business, and well as providing advisory support on a range of tax projects. This role will also include providing support with month-end processes for the wider finance and accounting team.

Requirements

Key Deliverables:

Tax Accounting & Reporting:

Quarterly tax reporting including preparation of the UK taxpack, calculation of transfer pricing adjustments and tax provisions, review of the overseas taxpacks and tax consolidation

Liaising with external auditors on tax matters as part of quarterly group audit

Overseeing outsourced preparation of tax provision and tax notes for inclusion in UK statutory accounts

Tax Compliance:

Managing compliance with global VAT/GST/Sales Tax obligations

Managing compliance processes and assisting the business with Customs matters

Overseeing outsourced preparation of UK corporate tax return; reviewing externally prepared overseas corporate tax returns

Managing withholding tax obligations and obtaining UK certificates of residency on request to minimise withholding tax costs

Ensuring compliance with employment tax requirements including preparation and submission of documentation related to the PSA, IR35 compliance and share options

Taking the lead on developing a new UK corporate tax budget process for POAs and tax compliance calendar

Assist on monitoring SAO and CCO compliance, including updating the tax risk framework and establishing best practice tax processes and documentation.

Tax Advisory:

Providing support to the Tax Manager on tax projects as required

Acting as a business partner to assist with day-to-day tax queries from around the business across all areas of tax

Monitoring changes in tax rules that may impact the business.

Accounting support:

Providing support to accounting team over month/year end as required, particularly with regards to digital revenue accounting

Assisting with preparation of UK statutory accounts

Assisting with other accounting tasks on an ad hoc basis as required.

Key Stakeholders:

Tax Manager, Senior Financial Controller, HR

Knowledge & Experience:

Essential:

CTA/ADIT qualified or ACA/CA qualified with relevant tax experience

Understanding of broad tax issues facing large international businesses

Previous experience advising multinational businesses either in an accounting firm or in a previous in-house role

Desirable:

Dual tax (CTA/ADIT) & accounting (ACA/CA) qualified

Experience with indirect taxes & customs matters

Understanding of international tax and transfer pricing principles

Competencies, Skills & Attributes:

Essential:

Team player with strong interpersonal skills, with an ability to build relationships across the business

Intermediate/advanced Excel skills

Self-starter who is keen to gain broad experience in tax, and is confident independently researching solutions to business questions

Commercial mindset, with a focus on finding pragmatic solutions to problems

Organised, analytical, pays attention to detail and able to manage multiple workstreams at once

Desirable:

Experience with ERP systems (Unit 4 Agresso, SAP or similar)

Other:

Interest in the video games industry useful but not essential French or German language useful but not essential.
