SkyBox Labs is a game development studio that works on some of the world’s most iconic games. Our current projects include working as a co-developer on Halo Infinite , projects in the Minecraft Universe , supporting the development of Magic: The Gathering Arena , and original title, Stela . As one of Vancouver’s fastest-growing game studios, since our inception in 2011, SkyBox Labs has evolved from a group of 8 people developing independent projects to a team of over 180 engineers, artists, designers, producers, and more.
SkyBox Labs is looking for a driven, dynamic and creative Talent Acquisition Specialist to recruit and source top talent for our growing game studio! Reporting to the Director of People and Culture and working closely with the Talent Acquisition team and hiring managers, you will build a robust talent pool for roles including operations, software engineering, art, design, production and QA. This is a great opportunity to put your existing knowledge and skills to use in a fun and dynamic work environment, while also being given opportunities for ongoing development in talent acquisition and talent attraction.
This position is for a one year fixed term.
Responsibilities
- Leverage advanced sourcing techniques to develop multi-faceted recruiting strategies to attract top talent in a competitive market
- Responsible for full-cycle recruitment: create compelling job ads; conduct thorough and effective screening of candidates; facilitate and conduct onsite interviews; negotiate, draft and send out job offers; assist in the onboarding process for new employees
- Build a robust talent pool of active and passive candidates through various sources and channels, including (but not limited to) LinkedIn and other social media platforms, networking events, professional job fairs and student career fairs, employee referrals, etc.
- Analyze and present on key recruitment data and metrics in order to support hiring decisions and improve talent acquisition processes and procedures
- Build positive partnerships with hiring managers and key stakeholders within the studio
- Deliver an exceptional candidate experience throughout each phase of the recruitment life-cycle
- Act as a studio ambassador through attendance of various industry events
- Other ad hoc duties as required
Qualifications
- 3+ years of recruitment experience in a fast-paced corporate environment
- Thorough understanding of the external talent market and emerging trends surrounding talent attraction including but not limited to brand awareness, reputation management, social engagement and lead generation
- Deep understanding of LinkedIn and other social media platforms as an effective sourcing and recruitment marketing tool
- Tech-savvy with experience using Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS)
- Customer service-oriented with a knack for building positive relationships with candidates, hiring managers and other key stakeholders
- Highly flexible with a good tolerance for ambiguity and time-driven deadlines
- Excellent time management and prioritization skills, with the ability to juggle multiple competing priorities at once
- Strong analytical skills for analyzing and presenting recruitment data and metrics
- Superb written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to exercise discretion and handle extremely confidential information
- A positive attitude and easygoing personality!

- Experience in tech, games, film, or the VFX industry
- In-depth knowledge of the gaming industry in Vancouver
