About Offworld Industries:

Offworld Industries Ltd. (OWI) is the independent studio behind the successful military first person shooter game, “Squad”. OWI was formed in 2014 by more than 15 developers who had worked together on the well known Project Reality mod for Battlefield 2. The founding purpose of the team was to bring a standalone successor of this acclaimed mod to market and build a game development studio and a livelihood from that foundation.

Fast forward to 2021, OWI has nearly 90 employees and is rapidly growing. We have been expanding the studio into both serving as a publisher supporting mods, as well as a technology provider building a framework for character based multiplayer games based in UE4.

We are built on passion, unified spirit and continuing efforts to break the mold. We strive to become a leader in creating large-scale multiplayer games as well as supplying others with the ability to do the same. We are looking for a talented Talent Acquisition Specialist for our current and upcoming Unreal Engine based multiplayer games. About the role:

You have an extensive network which you are endlessly trying to grow. You put a large emphasis on delivering a positive candidate experience in both presenting offers and delivering rejections, and you want to build relationships with candidates and support the tech and gaming communities they are a part of.

Job Duties:

  • Manage the full-cycle recruitment including, but not limited to, advertising open roles on various platforms, sourcing, screening applications and presenting and negotiating offers
  • Work closely with our Leadership team and key cross-functional stakeholders to ensure successful workforce planning
  • Establish and maintain relationships with external recruitment agencies
  • Use and create innovative sourcing strategies to attract top talent and build a pipeline for various roles
  • Work closely with Hiring Managers to understand hiring needs, identify requirements of new roles, assist with creating job specs and screening applications
  • Coach and support hiring managers in identifying interview evaluation criteria
  • Provide and share reports with leadership on recruiting efforts
  • Ensure a positive candidate experience by providing timely follow-ups with updates and feedback
  • Represent Offworld Industries at Job Fairs and other industry event
  • Help establish a strong employer brand by promoting Offworld Industries at every touchpoint in the recruitment process and working closely with the Marketing team
  • Continually identify best practices and improvements in our recruitment process

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field of study
  • 3+ years full time experience working in recruitment; preferably in-house recruitment within the games industry
  • Strong business acumen and proven ability to recruit across different departments/disciplines (Programmers, Marketing Specialists, Tech Artists, Level Designers etc.) and levels of seniority
  • Demonstrated experience using a variety of innovative methods to source candidates and fill hard-to-fill roles
  • Experience establishing and maintaining robust candidate pipelines
  • Experience using various platforms to recruit top talent e.g. LinkedIn
  • Knowledge of recruiting tools and data management/reporting techniques
  • An interest in gaming and industry trends
  • Detail-oriented, organized and capable of prioritizing workload to complete tasks and meet deadlines, strong negotiation skills, results driven and strong team player

This is a full-time permanent position, where the successful candidate will be working from home for now, with a long term view to relocate to New Westminster, BC, Canada.
