A Thinking Ape builds communities through mobile games with emergent social play and original IP. We released our first game in 2009 and have been profitable and growing every year since. We are a bottom-up-driven company with small teams that have a big focus on ownership and data-driven decision making. Our portfolio of games are growing and we are scaling our team to bring our games to more players.
The job
We are looking for a Senior Talent Acquisition Partner to support our big goals as we launch new games and start new teams. You will be integral to helping us hit our ambitious recruitment goals while attracting a wide range of talent to ATA and helping us foster an inclusive culture. Your role will include branding, sourcing, coordinating, interviewing, coaching and consulting hiring managers and delivering a high-quality candidate experience.
The team
You will join the People & Culture Team, also referred to as “Team Otter”, who are responsible for creating a culture that attracts talented and values-aligned folks to ATA and empowers them to do their best work. We do this by focusing our work around four pillars; employer branding, talent acquisition, training and development, and employee experience. We partner with business leaders across the organization to develop and execute people operation strategies that support ATA. This role will own the strategy and execution of the employer branding and talent acquisition pillars.
Things you will work on
- Manage and lead the full-cycle and co-op recruitment process for all roles at ATA including engineering, game design, creative, community, and marketing roles while providing a world-class candidate experience.
- Proactively source passive candidates, screen incoming applications and build diverse pipelines of candidates for roles at ATA.
- Work closely with hiring managers to draft job postings, iterate on recruitment processes, conduct phone screens, schedule interviews and facilitate offers.
- Develop and iterate on existing recruitment processes ensuring they can scale as we grow.
- Help to drive a culture of recruiting at ATA and act as a partner, advisor, and expert to hiring managers and leadership for all things recruiting.
- Create and deliver internal training on effective and inclusive interviewing.
- Own the configuration, renewal, integration, reporting, and internal training of our ATS (Greenhouse).
- Drive content creation and strategy for recruitment artifacts such as job descriptions, website content, blogs, social media, etc.
- Proactively generate and present recruiting dashboards/metrics to guide strategy and advise hiring managers.
- Represent ATA at campus events, career fairs, and industry events (in-person and virtual) to represent our brand and attract new talent.
- Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion programs internally and implement programs and initiatives that enable ATA to be better.
- Own and contribute to team projects to keep building and iterating on our hiring and onboarding process, DEI commitments, data analytics, employer branding initiatives, and more.
Who you are
Building relationships comes naturally to you. Whether that is working with a hiring manager on a job posting and the requirements for a new role or talking to a candidate on the phone about ATA’s growing teams. You are excited about understanding people’s motivations and if they are a match for an open role at ATA. You are equally excited to source candidates for hard-to-fill roles or work on employer branding projects to attract the right people to ATA. You understand the need for diverse teams and inclusive processes and always keep this in mind when creating new strategies. You are a natural storyteller with strong attention to detail, enjoy looking at data to inform your decisions, and are not afraid of trying new things.
The primary qualifications we’re looking for are
- 3+ years experience with full-cycle recruitment for technical and non-technical roles.
- Experience partnering closely with hiring managers and leadership as an advisor for all things recruitment.
- Experience working in the games, technology, entertainment or creative media industries.
- Experience using creative sourcing techniques for hard to fill roles.
- Continuous curiosity and desire to improve our recruitment process, seek out new sourcing strategies and uncover insights from data.
- You are extremely organized which enables you to oversee candidate pipelines, schedule interviews, and juggle multiple roles at a time. You have strong project management skills.
- You have a track record of providing a great candidate experience regardless of whether a candidate is hired including communication, follow-ups, negotiation, and offers/rejections.
- Ability to build strong relationships and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders including hiring managers and candidates.
- Ability to work independently, enjoy a fast-paced work environment, and take ownership of your tasks.
- You care deeply about providing an incredible candidate experience and building our employer brand as the face of ATA to our candidates.
Some other things that help are
- Familiarity with our recruiting stack - Greenhouse, LinkedIn Recruiter.
- Passion for games.
- Previous experience with managing an immigration or work visa application process.
- You are a natural people connector and have a passion to expand and grow your network.
Remote first
We have committed to a remote-first approach with access to in-person collaboration spaces in Vancouver. This means our roles are currently open to candidates who can work in Canada between the core hours of 11am - 4pm PST.
