Systems Designer (Sports/Strategy)

Nimble Giant is looking for a fully remote Systems Designer for a new Sports/Strategy Live game for PC and Consoles
We are looking for a talented, experienced and passionate Systems Designer who brings with them extensive knowledge on Game Design and how game systems work, and a technical background in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or similar, along with the tools to communicate complex systems effectively and efficiently to their team and others.
As a member of the design team, you will be working side by side with the Game Director and the Lead Game Designer to help outline, define, prototype and implement game systems that effectively sustain the core game loops and mechanics, while also collaborating with other designers and developers throughout their implementation to see them through to the final product.
Responsibilities
- Design robust game systems and economies that uphold the intended player experience in line with the Design vision.
- Create systems with flexibility and scalability in mind, which can adapt to a fast-changing live game ecosystem.
- Apply statistical and probabilistic methods to simulate and predict system performance.
- Tweak, modify or redesign systems as needed to ensure a healthy and fun balance.
- Generate clear documentation and tools to allow other developers to seamlessly implement your designs.
- Collaborate with other developers to implement these features.
- Monitor the different systems in the game and how they interact with each other to validate their quality and optimal performance.
- Help other team members to better understand your discipline and your designs.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience as a professional Systems Designer.
- Ability to work iteratively and adapt to changes.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Strong experience in data interpretation and presentation.
- Discipline to self-manage and self-evaluate.
- Soft Skills to manage and evaluate others.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
Desirable Perks
- Experience with Unreal, Unity or any 3D game engine.
- Experience with live games and dynamic economies.
- Experience with iterative design and rapid prototyping.
- Background in Mathematics, Statistics, Economy or related fields is a big plus.
- Experience with coding or scripting is a big plus.
- Fluent in Spanish.
