Build amazing experiences in Halo Infinite , connect players across platforms in Minecraft , unleash your creativity on original IP or think strategy with Magic: The Gathering Arena . SkyBox Labs is a game development studio that works on some of the world’s most iconic games. Our current projects include working as a co-developer on Halo Infinite , projects in the Minecraft Universe , supporting the development of Magic: The Gathering Arena , and original title, Stela . As one of Vancouver’s fastest-growing game studios, since our inception in 2011, SkyBox Labs has evolved from a group of 8 people developing independent projects to a team of over 200 engineers, artists, designers, producers, and more.
Come join us as a Support Engineer to provide technical support as part of the Halo Infinite team! Along with your technical problem solving abilities, you thrive off helping people. You’ll be the first point of contact for technical problems occurring with the development team, specifically, tackling content team roadblocks. Working on cutting-edge technology, this role will allow you to expand your skills in game development, while experiencing a supportive and positive work environment that allows time for having fun and playing the games we build!
Responsibilities
- Build relationships and collaborate with production, software engineers and the IT department, to facilitate rolling out infrastructure changes across the SkyBox Halo team
- Be the main point of contact for technical inquiries from Halo game developers, specifically assisting both code and content developers when they are blocked
- Be the first line of defense for our systems and ensuring all tools are functional Develop tools and automation to simplify workflows for the entire team
- Redirect issues that may arise or open new bug tests
- Investigate, analyze and debug technical problems, by recommending robust and sustainable solutions
Qualifications
- Top notch C# and C++ debugging skills
- Have a love of diving into complex issues
- Have a love for helping people
- Ability to manage a ticketing system and prioritize issues
- Strong communication skills and ability to educate team on best practices
- A commitment to self-direction, collaboration and constant improvement
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic work environment with multiple team members
Nice-to-have:
- Personal or professional game development experience (we love to see your personal projects!)
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as PowerShell and Python
- A passion for games!
