Summer 2020: Marketing Analytics Intern (BS/MS)

We are looking for an Intern to join the Marketing Analytics team in the Global Analytics & Insights department. You will get the opportunity to tackle some of the most challenging and interesting questions in the marketing world-- such as brand awareness, campaign attribution, campaign timing, marketing channel mix, and more. You will own a project or projects that focus on one of these areas and be guided by a senior member of the team. These projects will help you build a solid fundamental understanding of analytics, marketing, and the video game industry, coupled with invaluable hands-on experience. During this internship, you will get to work with a global community of industry experts from a variety of backgrounds and locations.
Responsibilities
- Conduct research on the video game and entertainment industries in order to understand the best methods, tools, practices, and trends employed to solve similar questions
- Identify data of interest from various sources (internal player data, campaign data, survey results, research data, sales data, etc.), and then work with different teams to collect, manipulate and transform large, complex, distributed data into usable datasets
- Collaborate with other analysts to posit a problem statement, define project goals, then design and execute the analysis from start to finish, leveraging the rich marketing datasets available to you
- Use statistical models or machine learning to build models based on historical events to predict future marketing campaign impact
- Interpret and present findings in a language that’s easy to understand by stakeholders from different functions; provide actionable recommendations to internal teams and business stakeholders
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a BA/BS/MS/MBA in Mathematics, Statistics, Marketing, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Analytics, or a related field
- Experience applying quantitative methods to understand and solve challenging problems.
- Work experience in a prior analytical role, digital marketing role, or consulting role is a plus
- Basic SQL skill required; Advanced SQL skill is a plus.
- Experience in analyzing large datasets via both a spreadsheet program (e.g. Excel, Sheets) and via a programmatic analysis tool (e.g. Python, R) is a plus
- Knowledge of statistics required (e.g. multivariate regression, predictive modeling), statistical modeling and machine learning experience is a plus
- Experience with data visualization applications (e.g. Tableau, R Shiny) is a plus
- Ability to effectively communicate with people at various levels of business and technical expertise, including the ability to simplify difficult technical concepts
- Self-driven with the ability to research and solve complicated problems
- Experience in a consumer products-oriented industry (e.g. gaming, entertainment, e-commerce) is a plus
- Passion for games and interest in the industry is a strong plus
