We’re looking for a thoughtful, detail-oriented team player to support our events team with a focus on EA PLAY, EA’s largest consumer-facing event in Los Angeles each June. You are someone who embraces challenges, isn’t afraid to jump in and get started, is passionate about EA and excited to jump start a career in strategic planning of live events as an essential marketing initiative. If you’re passionate about bringing EA more into the “experience economy” then this is the job for you!

You will keep the trains running on time: you'll be on the frontlines for the team, keeping things tracked and moving, working with vendors, and assisting with strategic business operations and event production. Along the way, you'll gain exposure to varied communications experiences such marketing campaign planning, guest experience and event staffing. You are preferably available to start in early May to get the most out of the internship before the event. End date is flexible in August.

Responsibilities

  1. Event support – Responsible developing and documenting materials (agendas, presentations, note-taking onsite and recapping into post-mortem notes etc.) for internal business meetings and staffing events in person, mostly in Los Angeles leading up to EA PLAY, occasionally at EA Redwood Shores. Support sometime in early June will be onsite at the event.
  2. List management - Administrative support such as updating databases and mailing lists for EA PLAY with internal departments to collate lists and maintain version control.
  3. Special Projects – Assist and lead special projects that are important to the operations of the team.
  4. Best Practices – Create detailed procedural best practice documents and share with team updates through scheduled updates
  5. Marketing and guest experience support – Partner with other teams and vendors to ensure smooth and accurate delivery of experiences, swag/giveaways and communications for EA PLAY.
  6. Event and Sponsorship research – Help identify potential event partners and opportunities for growth including comparable event and brand research.
  7. Return on investment Tracking and Data Analytics – Develop and track EA PLAY ROI metrics (with team). Working with our teams and partners to maximize data capture for deeper analytics on players and event attendees to connect back to larger EA projects.
  8. Tools – Understand and become an expert in tools associated with EA PLAY including Microsoft excel (can maintain several tracking spreadsheets (can maintain complex spreadsheets), 3rd party vendor tools, internal CRM, MIO, DOM and EA/Origin Access.
  9. Budget – Budget tracking and assistance as needed.

Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s student focused on business, communications, journalism, marketing or liberal arts.
  2. Experience in events, production, data analytics or strategic planning.
  3. Organized: we're talking "Type A" coordination!
  4. Tactical: able to prioritize and manage a high volume of work priorities with many moving parts.
  5. Interpersonal know-how: you will collaborate with numerous remote colleagues and across many different departments within the company.
  6. Quick-witted: knows how to research new vendors, best practices and special projects.
  7. Willing to jump in and help with big projects and learn on the go.
  8. Strategic: you can see the bigger picture and develop new ideas to improve and grow events.
