Studio Manager

We are looking for a broadly experienced Studio Operations Manager to join our San Mateo studio. We strive to work in nimble, empowered teams that are aligned around bringing players together through deep multiplayer games. The Studio Manager will drive the build out of our new studio, support the Covid-19 “return to office” strategy, and manage the overall day to day operations of our studios. The successful candidate must be passionate about creating new work environments and helping game developers do their best work. have excellent communication skills, be highly organized and detail oriented, be excited by new challenges and an ever changing to-do list, and be a gamer at heart.
Responsibilities:
- Drive return to office plans in accordance with state health regulations
- Manage build out of new studio
- Interfacing with IT and landlord on all things studio related
- Studio procurement including SWAG
- Day to facilities management and ongoing studio beautification
- Implementing and managing studio security/health/ safety plans and training such as first aid etc…where needed.
- Managing real estate related activities on behalf of Phoenix Labs
- Planning annual events, conferences, meetings, team building. Includes catering and special events logistics.
- Coordinate first dayogistics for new hires (including desk setup, orientation, etc).
- Manage inventory of office and kitchen supplies for studio staff ensuring that everything is well stocked
- Managing budgets, planning, forecasting
- Hiring and managing operations staff as the studio grows.
- Manage Front Desk, visitor sign in procedures,
- Manage/coordinate mail/couriers/deliveries
- Handle other tasks or projects as directed as we grow the studio
Requirements:
- Experience managing projects across departments, stakeholders, and cross functional teams.
- 7+ years of relevant office experience in which you performed similar duties in a game development or related industry studio
- Strong ability to solve problems proactively.
- Possesses good judgment and analytical skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Has experience working with confidential information and documentation.
- Demonstrate ability to work accurately, follow instructions, and handle multiple priorities.
- Enthusiastic, with an excellent work ethic.
- Love of video games and geek culture.
