SkyBox Labs is a game development studio that works on some of the world’s most iconic games. We are a co-developer on Halo Infinite , work on projects in the Minecraft universe, and also make original cinematic platformer, Stela . As one of Vancouver’s fastest growing game studios, since our inception in 2011, SkyBox Labs has evolved from a group of 8 people developing independent projects to a team of over 140 engineers, artists, designers, producers, and more.
SkyBox Labs is looking for an engaged Studio Coordinator who will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our studio spaces. We are looking for a high performer who thrives on working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment where priorities and deadlines are often shifting. Working under the guidance of our Facilities Manager, this person is a self-starter who takes ownership over tasks and works well under minimal supervision, all while committed to providing a high level of internal and external customer service.
- Take ownership and pride in maintaining the studio space including managing all office supplies, kitchen equipment, and food/drink inventory; building relationships with vendors, maintaining stock, identifying replacement needs, and providing alternative solutions as we evolve
- Oversee studio guest experiences by meeting room preparation, managing security protocols, and organizing catered lunches
- Be a key player in creating, planning, and executing on unique internal studio events on a consistent basis for holidays and milestone celebrations. Events vary from game days, pancake breakfasts, studio-wide lunches, Show & Tell, Lunch & Learns, and much more.
- Participate and be main point of contact in external studio event planning - sharing creative solutions, taking responsibility for key tasks, and executing effectively as a contributing team member
- Support the studio through coordinating travel arrangements such as transportation, accommodation, and other logistics
- Taking on new ad hoc tasks as they develop to support the growing and evolving studio
- 1-2 years of work experience in coordination, administration, facilities, or operations within the tech industry
- Superb organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Customer-service and relationship-oriented frame of mind
- Proactive, anticipatory thinking, with a solutions-oriented mindset
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Educational experience in a related field
Nice-to-haves:
- Proficiency in Google Suite
- Experience working in the games industry
- An interest in games!
