Studio Art Director (remote friendly)

Job Description
As Studio Art Director, you would operate as both a strategic, and tactical mind as a creative, leveraging your experience building games, characters, and worlds - to inspire and lead art teams across current and future game teams. You would collaborate both with studio leadership, as well as game team leadership to establish creative direction, visual style, and work processes to enable talented artists to build amazing experiences for players.
We only plan on having one Studio Art Director - and over time this role would transition to more of a strategic role where you would be helping guide the craft strategy for art at the studio for the medium and long term with a focus on setting individual game art teams up for success.
Key Duties:
- Helping establish the creative direction of current and future games along with the art team, pushing for a style that we can make our own.
- Providing constructive feedback on artists' work to ensure we're doing what will best serve our players, our product goals, and individual personal improvement.
- Managing art leads across all game teams to help set them, and our art teams up for success.
Qualifications
- 6+ years of industry experience working in unestablished, stylized IPs
- 4+ years experience in character design, concept art, animation, or vfx
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience mentoring others
- Strong visual communication skills
- Experience working with external partners and giving and taking feedback
