As the Strategy and Operations Manager (Business Development) , you will drive strategic analyses of diverse problems, incubate and drive special projects, achieve operational excellence, and lead implementation fo r strategic partnerships.
You will join as a Singapore Rioter on the Business Development team. Our team develops valuable and deep relationships with partners by bringing the full potential of Riot’s growing portfolios across APAC (Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam, Taiwan, Japan, and India). We build external relationships with brands and partners and support internal business pillars and local markets to find partnerships that create meaningful value for our players across the region.
Reporting to the Head of Business Development (APAC), you will be a trusted adviser, providing counsel and serving as a sounding bound to inform and, if necessary, challenge decisions; applying both inside and outside perspectives. You will work closely across Riot teams to coordinate the execution of key partnerships. The ideal candidate has experience leading business case development, project management skills, and the ability to partner with diverse stakeholders.
Based in Singapore, you’ll join a tight-knit group of exceptionally bright-minded individuals who share our prioritization of player experience, rejection of convention, and passion for gaming. Riot Games APAC is dedicated to creating tailored player experiences that show local players they aren’t lost in translation.
Responsibilities:
- Work cross-functionally with gaming, marketing, finance, product, and data analytics teams in various markets to solve complex business problems and aid in strategic planning
- Streamline and enhance our business development processes to bridge gaps and ensure we deliver value to our partners and players
- Lead and execute special initiatives across a range of operational topics
- Conduct market based and strategic research to provide well-thought leadership to cross-functional teams
- Maintain awareness of industry trends and market macro shifts to be considered and evaluated to make more data-informed decisions
Required Qualifications:
- Experience leading complex efforts with multiple collaborators from diverse disciplines, such as product, marketers, legal, etc.
- Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to build and manage strong relationships with the team, cross-functional colleagues, and external partners
- You are a clear and concise communicator with the ability to synthesize a lot of information quickly, highlight the key takeaways, and disseminate impactful insights
- Ability to structure & deal with ambiguous problem statements, being able to drive clarity in unclear scenarios
- Passion to lead and develop people
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to present compelling messages to executive management, clients, peers and team members
- Have a growth mindset, and are a self-starter motivated to optimize processes
- Experience working in small, nimble and high growth businesses
Desired Qualifications:
- 4+ years of relevant experience from e.g. management consulting, Big 4 deals advisory, business transformation, startups, strategy or operations strategy roles; Ideally two years at a top-tier management consulting firm
- Experience working in media, entertainment, consumer products, or technology
- Familiar with B2B business models and monetization frameworks
- Fluency in Mandarin or a Southeast Asian language (e.g. Vietnamese, Thai, Bahasa, etc.
