Role Overview:
Reporting into the Financial Controller -SIEE, this is a fantastic role suited for a qualified accountant with previous exposure to stock accounting and operations within a multinational organisation. The role is responsible for the accurate accounting, reporting, budgeting and forecasting of the Selling and COGS costs within the SIEEL P&L and associated balance sheets as well as ensuring correct pricing of products are maintained. The incumbent should be ensuring standardisation and consistency across the SIEE group, work with Global partners to ensure consistency and act as a business partner for all areas across the supply chain.
What you’ll be doing:
Monthly:
- Monitor and control the day-to-day activities of the supply chain and stock accounting team.
Complete ownership of the Warranty Provision and inputs - Full ownership of monthly and quarterly forecasts, including monthly variance to actual reviews
- Preparation and review of the month end reporting requirements
- Ensure standardisation and consistency of postings and processes across the SIEE Group within the Selling and COGS lines
- Ensure the correct pricing for products is reflected in SAP Hana which involves liasing with the Commercial team
- Liaising with Territory Finance and Operations to resolve group accounting and operational issues
- Review of current operational processes and procedures to ensure we maintain best practise
- Training and Coaching of the Stock Accountant and Stock and Supply Chain Accountant to cover key responsibilities
- Maintain process documentation
- Ad hoc analysis as and when required
- Technical support and coaching where required for non-finance staff
- Assistance with internal and external audit requirements as and when required
- Comply with existing SOX controls, work with the SOX team to document new processes or amend existing processes
- Ad hoc support on projects as and when required

Reporting on Group selling costs
Airfreight accruals
OEM product invoicing in direct shipments
AD hoc reports – Vendor spend history
Insurance damage/ loss claim issues
Stock Value Reporting
Develop and improve PO creation
Accounting system issues and resolutions
GL Account definition and harmonisation
SGA Freight Quarterly reviews and Reporting
Customer Services
Collation of the Call centre budgets
Working alongside key business partner for the input of monthly flash / quarterly forecast
Tracking of budget, forecast and actuals of call centres.
Tracking of moderation costs
Planning
Co-ordinate Central Selling budget/forecast processes with the planning team
Upload budgets into BPC and Business Warehouse
Ensure all selling Forecast/Budget guidelines are current and clear and in accordance with SIEE accounting policies, Sony group policies & US GAAP.
Reporting
Selling/COGS Costs across the group
ASSR – KPI’s and review of processes
World Pay/Modus link reporting
Stock value reporting
Assistance with audits of stock and stock reports
What we are looking for:
- Previous stock accounting experience within a similar organisation
- Previous financial accounting experience preferably working within a dynamic FMCG environment.
- Previous experience of management and mentoring of staff
- Good technical knowledge of IFRS, UK and US GAAP
- Prior financial accounts experience.
- Good numerical and analytical skills
- Systems literate – Proven experience of SAP, Business Warehouse, BPC with an intermediate level of Excel competency
- Ability to work within a time pressured environment (month end, year-end, peak season). Therefore, essential that candidates have good time-management and organisational skills
- Pro-active and self-motivated
- Good communicator (both written & verbal) with the personal credibility and ability to build effective relationships with staff up to senior management level within both Finance and, particularly, non-Finance functions.
