Technical Program Managers operate within the Engineering organization and have technical knowledge that enables them to develop and manage engineering-wide programs, drive cross-team projects, and accelerate the execution of a team’s roadmap. The right candidate will be an excellent communicator, comfortable in a fast-moving organization, and eager to collaborate to solve difficult challenges. This is a Staff TPM role, reporting to the director of TPM, responsible for developing and implementing Discord’s product quality program. The ideal candidate is highly organized, productive, first-principles thinker, who is able to thrive in high-pressure, time-sensitive scenarios, and is willing to adapt to the needs of the business.
What you'll be doing
- Partner with key stakeholders to define what Product Quality means at Discord
- Develop holistic strategy for the creation and implementation of a Product Quality program
- Develop Quality KPIs and methods to measure & report on them
- Drive methods to improve product quality, including streamlining bug intake, triage, and resolution
- Define Discord’s testing strategy and partner with CX to engage with community testers
Who you are
- 5+ years of technical product/program management experience, software engineering, or quality assurance work
- Experience with scale, production with emphasis on Product Quality, Reliability, Efficiency
- Knowledge in technical program management methodologies, experience delivering tech programs or products from inception to results
- Experience moving technical or engineering programs from concept to completion and experience articulating the impact using metrics, growth examples, ROI etc.
- Adept at breaking down complex challenges into workable components and make continuous progress towards solving a problem vs. trying to boil the ocean
- Experience either in an established consumer application, cloud computing, or mid-sized growth stage company

New York City residents only: Minimum salary of $201,000 year + equity and benefits
