Located in Chicago’s River North, Level Ex is transforming the way surgeons hone their skills by practicing high-risk surgeries and earning training credit with the latest medical devices and diagnostic treatments in our industry-leading 3D mobile applications. Our team unites award-winning game designers, developers, and artists with industry-leading surgeons, all passionate about using game design approaches to keep doctors across the world performing at the top of their game.
As Level Ex continues to grow we’re in need of an experienced Staff Accountant. Reporting to our Controller, you’ll be responsible for managing procedures to ensure the financial integrity of the company’s financial accounts and records. You’ll also play an important role in the monthly close process, not only owning it, but also seeking opportunities to further improve it. There are also opportunities to take on more financial analysis responsibilities further down the road.
What You’ll Be Doing with Us
- Manage company financial accounts, including Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, among others
- Prepare financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information
- Conduct periodic reconciliation of accounts and report any issues to the manager
- Maintain confidential information and the highest levels of discretion
- Support in the creation of monthly and annual reports
- Work with department colleagues to ensure financial data integrity
- Maintain open communication channels with colleagues and management to resolve issues.
- Other duties as assigned by your manager
Your Skills and Qualifications
- Education – Bachelor’s Degree, with a focus on Accounting
- Experience – Ideally 1-2 years prior experience as a Staff Accountant, will also consider star performers with less experience and/or relevant internship experience
- Work ethic – A sense of urgency in meeting critical and time-sensitive deadlines.
- Quick learner and a strong curiosity to learn
- Accuracy – Demonstrated ability to accurately maintain financial records in a fast-paced environment
- Technical - Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Multi-tasking - Ability to take on multiple tasks at the same time, and adapt to competing priorities
