SUMMARY
The Staff Accountant position is responsible for assisting the accounting department in creating accurate and timely financial records for the organization. Reporting directly to the Controller, you will be responsible for ensuring transactions are accurately entered, reconciling balance sheet accounts, documenting business processes to maintain and improve internal controls, and most importantly, being someone that can help drive improvements throughout the finance function.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Code and enter vendor invoice in accounting system, keeping track of invoice due dates and process weekly check run
- Process semi-monthly and special payroll. From input to disbursement, coordinate with outside payroll vendor and answer employee questions related to recording time and other payroll related matters
- Reconcile employee spending on Corporate credit card to monthly statement, coding, and enter entry in accounting system
- Process expense reports in an accurate and timely manner and in accordance with company policy
- Daily cash reporting and assist with weekly cash forecast
- Customer invoicing
- Process Purchase order for Outside Contractor services and fixed assets purchases
- Prepare and enter month-end close entries
- Bank reconciliations and accounts analysis
- Responsible for property tax filings, preparation and filing of business license census bureau, and other miscellaneous regulatory reporting
- Assist in preparing schedules for income tax return
- Maintaining General Ledgers and journals. Prepare related statements and reports
- Perform other duties as assigned to accomplish company and department objectives
