Sr. UI Artist

Highly motivated, creative and adept artist, capable of working alone as well as alongside a team of other artists and developers in a fast-paced production environment. Produces high-quality art for user interfaces, icons, branding, card art and other 2d related art. Demonstrates strong understanding of user experience, art production for video games, color theory, graphic design/layout, and principles and animation. Demonstrate good oral and written communication skills. Must be able to multi-task between projects and assure the quality of assigned projects.

Key job responsibilities
Understands and demonstrates the ability to manage and produce the UI elements for card games.
Understands and demonstrates the ability to direct consistency of style in card art.
Work closely with Design, Engineering, and Outsource teams to oversee cumulative UI creation and direction
Creates 2D art, both interactive elements (such as menus, buttons, and icons) and non-interactive elements (such as backgrounds, and panels).
Creates art pieces for the “look and feel” of the in-game UI
Creates user interface art pieces for the game considering consistency, visual arts principles and a user centered approach.
Assets created set high visual quality bar
Works with Art leads to establish and match game style, “look and feel” with design objectives
Ensures that assets are delivered at high quality and in accordance with the approved game style, technically sound and completed within the scheduled timeframe.
Provides problem solving input to asset creation and workflow refinements
Stays informed on new developments in mini games and social network gaming

Basic Qualifications

5+ years professional experience as a UI artist
1+ AAA title shipped
Portfolio that demonstrates style range, creativity and craftsmanship

Preferred Qualifications

Five or more years of experience with at least three product cycles (or equivalent)
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
Experience and demonstrated talent in both traditional 2D illustration and in UI visual design
Expertise in Photoshop and Adobe After Effects
Excellent knowledge and understanding of the video game development process
Excellent knowledge and understanding of Interactive design and Usability Principles
Demonstrate user centered UI design and art through samples of work
Background on graphic design, and new media desired
Demonstrate traditional art skills and creativity, as well as interest for innovations and use of new media and technologies
Expertise in arts/design, and a demonstrated ability to direct, mentor and enhance the efforts of a creative team
Strong problem-solving ability and collaboration skills. Collaborative team work is a must
