Sr Technical Lead - Database Administrator

Summary

o 24/7 support of production database services to ensure the highest standards of availability, resilience, integrity, security and performance required by business systems
o SQL 2012, 2016/2017/2019 Installation, Good troubleshooting skills especially on Performance & tuning
o Good to have intermediate level experience in Cloud Azure, SQL hosted services
o Development and Oversight of backup strategies for the SQL Server Infrastructure
o Manage SQL Database Security
o Performs capacity planning
o Responsible for monitoring and making decision for performance tuning (high CPU, memory issues, I/O issues, indexes and their fragmentations, updating statistics, server profiler).
o Reviews, analyses, evaluates, and recommends new/existing technologies that might increase productivity, reduce down time, or improve the quality of work related to SQL server systems
o Work closely with business and IT associates, and outside vendors to effectively choose, plan, deploy and maintain system changes
o Apply Service packs, hot fixes & CUs.
o Monitor SQL Server, SQL Server Agent, Error log, Application and System logs, Database and Log growth, CPU, Memory and Disk Utilization.
o Provides the operational support and development of the Microsoft SQL Server Infrastructure (Production and Non-Production environments, which includes Database Servers, Database Services, and implementation of SQL based tools and infrastructure).
o Experience with SQL in virtual, physical and cloud-based environments.
o Must have T-SQL and SSIS skills.
o Experience in Clustering, Mirroring, Replication.
o Experience creating DTS and SSIS packages
o Experience in Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools
o Experience in implementing operational automation using scripts
o Experience with data warehousing a plus
o Previous experience working with large databases (at least half terabyte) is necessary.
o Provide 24x7 support of the SQL environment, including on call support
o Establish and maintain Microsoft SQL Database architecture best practices, including procedures, guides, templates, and relevant documentation
o Works closely with application development team to ensure successful deployment and performance of database applications.
o Experience working with Windows, Linux server
