Sr. Solutions Systems Engineer

What You Will Do:
Listen, learn, and develop Playstation's Financial Systems. Collaborate with Playstation Network engineering, product management, finance, and other partners in addition to the internal team.
Develop and manage distributed-systems to integrate Playstation’s online business all the way to the financial ledger. Build both frontend and backend, including but not limited to a variety of API's, data transformations, ETL programs, and reporting dashboards.
Improve the financial data model in both data and technology: Oracle, Snowflake, S3, Redshift, etc.
Analyze data to support complex queries from finance, tax, and compliance departments.
Develop, monitor, and optimize programs and code; SQL, ETL programs, Bash scripts, Java or C/++, Perl, Ruby, NodeJS, Javascript, etc.
Essentials:
- Desire to participate in Playstation’s global online business to report on revenue/costs business
- Understanding of basic fundamental accounting
- 8+ Years experience in current software industry business models such as e-commerce sales, subscriptions, preorders, royalties, revenue sharing, and bounties
- 8+ Years experience solving multi-faceted problems in complex data environments
- 8+ Years experience developing financial applications and/or implementing ETL solutions in a hybrid cloud/on-prem platform containing large, complex data from many sources
- Experience in backend data model design; SQL (Oracle and/or Snowflake)
- Ability to operate both independently and collaboratively within teams
- Passion for pursuing new technologies and constantly learning
- Demonstrated proficiency in (multiple) programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, Python, Shell Scripting, C/C++
- Other tools: Linux, networking, code repository
- Ability to work with remote (London, Tokyo) partners; ability to travel there if needed on a project basis
- Flexibility in working hours to support global operations, especially over month-end accounting close
- University degree in a STEM field but more important is on-the-job experience
Bonus Points:
ERP – SAP, BW; BI and Data Science experience
