As a part of Sony Interactive Entertainment, the Cloud Gaming Engineering and Infrastructure team is leading the cloud gaming revolution, putting console-quality video games on any device.
The Senior Software Engineer position is a hands-on engineering role for someone who likes working in small teams and with other sharp engineers in a success-oriented, fast-paced, international and fun environment.
Responsibilities
- Design and development of robust distributed systems.
- Development of low-level userspace software and kernel drivers / features.
- Troubleshooting performance and reliability issues at a global scale.
Requirements
- BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or 10 years of relevant work experience.
- 5+ years of relevant programming experience in C/C++.
- 5+ years of experience in low-level Linux / BSD userspace and kernel development.
Skills & Knowledge
- Strong C/C++ programming skills
- Strong debugging / troubleshooting skills
- Experience developing a distributed systems architecture
- Linux / FreeBSD userspace and kernel
- Network programming
- Familiarity with CDN technologies
- Web technologies (e.g. REST, gRPC, protobufs)
- Git
Additional attributes
- Software as a service
- Python / Shell scripting
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment
- Motivated self starter
- Understanding of Japanese language and culture
