We are seeking a Sr Build Engineer to be part of our Development Platform Team with a multi-studio strategy & platforms focus on build and release systems. The expectations for this role are that you will drive design & implementation of great tooling & workflows for our cloud-based source build & release systems. You’ll also help build our team and mentor colleagues as we expand our studio and development needs.
This role collaborates with disciplines across the studio to enable the team and provide highly secure, scalable, and performant cloud-cased build & release services & systems.
Core Responsibilities & Objectives
- Develop an understanding of our platform requirements and business goals to collaboratively design & implement solutions that are scalable, performant, and secure.
- Design and develop a cloud-based build & release system for Unreal Engine games that can be re-used or scaled to multiple studios.
- Consider future requirements to support other game engines in development of build & release systems.
- Create runbooks and train the team on administration and maintenance of our build & release systems.
- Provide 24x7 on-call support as a part of an on-call rotation.
Core Traits (Skills, Knowledge, Experience)
- Minimum four years professional experience in DevOps/SRE, Build and Release Engineering, or related expertise.
- Experience developing build & release systems that integrate with Unreal Engine, including BuildGraph and GameSync).
- Experience with automated build systems such as Jenkins, TeamCity, or equivalent.
- Experience in languages such as Python, Bash, PowerShell scripting, etc.
- Experience implementing solutions in AWS and/or Azure.
- Knowledge of Build and Release Engineering principles and methodologies including source control, branch management, and build testing using Perforce.
Bonus Traits
- Experience developing for a live, service-based product.
- Experience developing tooling and workflows for developers in non-engineering roles such as artists and designers.

- Close vision to monitors and screens, consistently working on computer equipment such as keyboards and monitors, long periods of sitting.
