As one of the largest mobile marketing companies in the world, MZ is looking for a world class Sr. Engineering Manager to continue the development of our full stack Ad Tech platform. Reporting directly to the VP of Performance Marketing, this role will play a crucial role in setting the vision for our ad-tech engineering efforts while deeply collaborating with multiple stakeholders across the company, including product, science, and marketing teams.
We are seeking somebody passionate about building scalable solutions who can collaborate seamlessly with technical and non-technical teams alike. Our tight collaboration between engineering and business teams affords us the opportunity to be agile and disruptive in marketing our game titles, with engineering leadership at the helm of creating business value.
What you'll be doing:
- Manage and coach a team of experienced software engineers and technical leads
- Own the Ad Tech team's technical roadmap and direction, working closely with Product Management & Marketing to deliver against goals
- Manage the development and maintenance of the full suite of solutions for programmatic advertising, including data pipeline, applied data science, partner integration, UI/UX
- Stay at the cutting edge of advertising trends in technologies, processes, and policy
- Identify and track critical diagnostic metrics for the health and growth of our technology suite
- Foster an environment of team collaboration and high individual accountability
- Mentor and coach team on good coding standard and best practices
- The willingness to code when necessary to get a feature shipped on time
Your background and who you are:
- 7+ years of software experience with extensive background in Ad Tech, with deep knowledge of programmatic advertising
- 4+ years experience managing a software engineering team
- B.S. or higher in Computer Science; Masters preferred
- Strong working knowledge of multi-threaded and distributed Java systems
- Experience with Python, SQL, XML, JSON, HDFS, S3
- Proficiency in designing and building high performance, low latency distributed systems
- Track record of shipping and scaling high-quality software systems as an individual contributor and manager
- Communication skills to convey intricate engineering systems to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Bonus points:
- Managerial experience directly within Ad Tech
- Extensive experience working in scrum environments
- Experience implementing neural net models
