As Project Stryker rapidly progresses Riot Esports finds itself in need of new production & operations workflows that better prepare for our multi-esport future. From content ideation to end-user distribution and every step in between it is imperative that Riot land this first step towards becoming a unified global media production entity.
We are looking for an experienced General Manager to join our team at our newest Remote Broadcast Center (RBC) in the Seattle-area. You will oversee the staff and activities at the center and be responsible for operations.
You will have ownership and will manage the performance of the operations at the RBC. You will have approx 6 full-time direct reports. The position is based in the Seattle-area.
The role of the GM will be to help build and organize multiple departments, functions and teams with a goal of enabling efficient operations. A natural unifier you see disparate, silo’d teams and use influence and experience to encourage collaboration & knowledge-sharing.
Coordination with Riot’s other RBCs will be a prime responsibility. This is a hands-on role responsible for leading teams that oversee content production facilities and activities, content processing and management, crewing, technical infrastructure, warehouse operations, the physical facility and administrative tasks. You identify resource limitations, org design inefficiencies and technical gaps, you will work within and across teams at Riot to increase efficiency and improve processes for your teams.
You will grow your direct reports and hold them accountable through coaching, teaching and by leading by example. You will hire to grow the team as Riot matures in operating multiple esports, creating an inclusive work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Help build and hire Riot's first RBC site team, located in Seattle
- Develop strategies focused on operational efficiency, effective prioritization and customer support
- As a member of the RBC Global senior leadership team, create the strategic vision for Riot’s continued RBC model
- Execute high impact initiatives that may include operational changes, workflow models and new production strategies
- Prioritize effectively and use relationships with internal Riot teams and stakeholders
- Maintain control, efficiency, and visibility over the RBC operations for the region
- Work with Engineer-In-Charge to ensure optimum performance of the technical broadcast and enterprise networks and infrastructure, both physical and virtual
- Maintain control, efficiency, and visibility over the site and global finance view; P&L, financial reporting, annual (SPF) budgeting, AP, forecasting and cost tracking
- Manage facilities and plant management tasks and operations working via direct reports; IT Manager and Facilities Manager
- Demonstrate knowledge of modern content processes and workflows and the underlying technologies
- Coordinate and encourage RBC inter-site communications and activity
Required Qualifications: (if there are Specific Game Requirements, they would be placed here)
- 8+ years of work experience in operational roles
- 3+ years of general management experience
- Direct P&L Ownership
- Experience driving results through strategy
- An understanding of Remote Broadcast Production
- Experience achieving excellent results working with other teams across the globe
