What this role is all about:
When you analyze consumer data, do you see the story behind the numbers? I'm talking about your superpower for discovering deep insights about gamers and translating them into compelling narratives - the kind that enable nimble, data-informed strategic decisions that make outstanding games.
We're looking for someone with a strong analytics skillset and extensive experience in the digital or tabletop gaming fields synthesizing consumer, game, and industry data to derive meaningful insights and visualizations that will ultimately inform critical decisions throughout the organization.
A day in the life:
- Perform comprehensive quantitative analysis of primary and syndicated data across multiple data sets to identify key trends in consumer behavior, provide competitor insights, and help figure out potential product or marketing opportunities
- Write executive summaries and reports, and present insights / recommendations to senior management, internal teams, and corporate partners
- Responsible for standardizing all proprietary and secondary data formats and crafting, automating, and distributing dashboards and reports to drive consistent access to self-service insights
- Contribute to the design of research studies, such as consumer segmentation, product usage, brand strategy and positioning, and game / design concept testing to ensure the appropriate breadth and depth of data are collected for future analysis
- Champion a constant test / learn / innovate culture fed by fact-based consumer insights data that represents the voice of the player
- Act as a strategic Consumer Insights expert for departmental and regional leaders to aid the development and optimization of their growth plans
What you'll bring:
- 7+ years in Marketing Analytics, Business Intelligence, Consumer Insights, or relevant work in digital gaming, hobby games, or a related entertainment field
- Extensive background with both Primary and Secondary Research, including data systems, data analysis, data structure/management, and insights development
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills required
- Experience with SQL required
- Experience with R, Python, and/or SPSS preferred
- Knowledge of Tableau and PowerBI a plus
- Strong problem definition / solution skills, intellectual curiosity, and love of learning, with an avid pursuit of innovation
- Significant experience analyzing and synthesizing data across industry, game, consumer, and omni-channel insights, yielding actionable insights and recommendations
- Ability to communicate complex ideas in an efficient and compelling way, with the gravitas to influence senior decision makers (internally and externally)
- Strong practical understanding of how gamers, games, and entertainment products and services interact at various points of the consumer lifecycle
- BA/BS or equivalent experience required, preferably with a concentration in a quantitative discipline (e.g., statistics, economics, computer science, etc.), Marketing, Consumer Behavior, Market Research, Social Science, or related coursework
